Sheryl Crow’s List of "Important Things You Can Do For Your Health"
By AshleyThe other day I was reading the October issues of Shape Magazine with Sheryl Crow gracing the cover, and I couldn’t help but notice how fit and trim she is, especially for her age! She’s a cancer survivor and said going through that experience made her realize just how important it is that she take care of her health. Sheryl mentioned three of the most important things that you can do for your health, and I thought they were worth passing on. Often times we don’t think about our mental well-being, we just think about our physical well-being. The mental portion of our health is equally as important as our physical help and she mentioned this.
According to Sheryl, here are three of the most important things you can do for your health:
- Meditate
- Breath
- Drink lots of water
I’ve recently started meditating after my doctor suggested it would be good for me, and my first thought was “I don’t know how to meditate!” I always picture people humming with their legs crossed to meditate, but meditation isn’t always that way. I’ve found that simply sitting still and focusing on my breath has done wonders for my mental health and bell-being.
Breathing is another important thing for mental health! I’m not talking about just normal breathing, I’m talking about the deep stomach breaths where you see your stomach rise as you breath in through your nose. Try it sometime, it really has a calming affect on the mind!
And finally, drink lots of water. This is one of those “duh!” facts that we all know, but don’t always follow. Water cleanses the body and is imply good for us.
When you’re trying to lose weight and live a healthy lifestyle, it’s not just your physical health that counts! Remember, take care of your mental health as well as your physical health, and I think you’ll notice a big difference!
